Public Fixed Income Analyst

About the position

The Public Fixed Income Analyst position at MetLife Investment Management is designed for candidates currently pursuing an undergraduate degree with a focus on finance or economics. This role involves providing analytical support to various teams within the Public Fixed Income sector, including trading, portfolio management, and credit research. The analyst will engage in producing reports, processing trades, and conducting research to inform senior management about market developments. Responsibilities

• Provide analytical support to traders, portfolio managers, and strategists.
• Produce daily, weekly, and monthly reports to manage and report on portfolio performance and risk.
• Work with the Public Fixed Income Trading Desk, middle office, and back office to allocate and process trades.
• Conduct research and analysis to communicate with senior management on topical issues in response to market developments.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a higher education institution pursuing an undergraduate degree with a strong academic record.
• Demonstrated interest in finance or economics.
• Anticipated graduation date between December 2024 and June 2025.
• Strong work ethic and personal integrity.
• Ability to adapt to new challenges in a dynamic environment while handling multiple projects.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment, remaining detail-oriented and client-focused.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, comfortable interacting with management-level professionals.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
