About the position

The Public Health Advisor position within the Bureau of Public Health Clinics focuses on improving the sexual health of New Yorkers through direct clinic services, education, and policy development. The role involves assisting patients in sexual health clinics, managing laboratory results, and performing clerical functions to support clinic operations.

Responsibilities

• Posting laboratory results
• Providing greeter service
• Collecting fingerstick specimens and performing phlebotomy as needed
• Maintaining CPR/BLS certification
• Performing clerical functions such as registration
• Recalling clinic patients with reactive results via text, phone, and email
• Conducting patient callbacks for missed appointments and rescheduling as needed
• Scheduling follow-up appointments

Requirements

• A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college, including or supplemented by twelve semester credits in health education, or in health, social or biological sciences
• A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college, and six months of full-time satisfactory experience in a health promotion or disease intervention/prevention program
• A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent, and four years of full-time satisfactory experience in health promotion or disease intervention/prevention
• Education and/or experience equivalent to the above qualifications
