About the position

The Public Health Analyst role involves providing technical assistance, coordination support, and policy and programmatic development support to improve public health outcomes. The analyst will identify trends, patterns, and potential risks to the population, offering evidence-based recommendations and strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and organize data from various sources, such as surveys, research studies, and health records.
  • Analyze data using statistical software and other tools to identify patterns, trends, and correlations.
  • Develop and implement data collection methods and protocols.
  • Provide technical assistance for policy development, collection, and analysis of data, and develop various technical correspondence.
  • Participate in various workgroups focusing on specific issues for resolution and response to inquiries.
  • Coordinate visits and conferences with foreign government participants and acquire data for briefing material.
  • Prepare high-level meetings on health-related topics, such as biosecurity and infectious disease surveillance, and develop presentations.
  • Develop briefing memos, guidance documents, and other correspondence related to public health concerns.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field of study.
  • Minimum of two (2) years in policy and public health setting, or equivalent combination of education/experience.
  • Experience in federal government contracting preferred.
  • Experience with infectious disease public health-related topics preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (e.g., Access, Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with executive leadership.
  • Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills.
