Public Health Data Analyst

About the position

The Public Health Data Analyst position involves analyzing and developing analytic data relevant to public health trends, ensuring quality assurance and improvement initiatives. The role requires evaluating data collection methods, performing complex data analyses, and providing technical support to various divisions and programs within the public health department.

Responsibilities

• Analyze data for operational improvements, ensuring validity, efficiency, and accuracy.
• Plan quality assurance and improvement initiatives for public health records management.
• Perform and review complex data analyses from various internal sources.
• Identify and evaluate patterns and trends in public health data.
• Develop strategic approaches for data quality and business analytics management.
• Respond to user requests for data information and provide analytical support.
• Evaluate, monitor, update, and maintain database systems.
• Develop and distribute statistical and analytical reports, including charts and graphs.
• Prepare maps and regular and ad hoc reports based on data analysis.
• Assist divisions in developing statistical data presentations and public health response records management.
• Conduct training and provide technical support on e-health and data standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Information Systems, Business or Public Administration, Public Health, social sciences, or a related field and two (2) years of project data collection or statistical analysis experience.
• Associate's Degree in Computer Information Systems, Business or Public Administration, social sciences, or related field and four (4) years of project data collection or statistical analysis experience.
• Valid Texas Class 'C' Driver's License or equivalent from another state.
