About the position

The Public Health Data and Intelligence Analyst position at the Maine CDC is a full-time role focused on supporting public health and healthcare emergency response systems. The analyst will utilize data analysis and statistical software to generate actionable intelligence, improve public health operations, and ensure data-driven decision-making in response to health threats. This role allows for partial remote work and requires strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of public health principles.

Responsibilities

  • Use software to generate predictive modeling and analysis to translate data into actionable business intelligence.
  • Collect and analyze data related to public health topics and suggest recommendations to improve emergency response operations.
  • Demonstrate knowledge in health disaster planning and emergency preparedness response.
  • Familiarity with public health policies and regulations at various government levels.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with stakeholders.
  • Conduct complex research and analysis, coordinating activities with professionals.
  • Serve as the primary contact for public health threat intelligence reports.
  • Coordinate information exchange regarding public health threats and risks.
  • Deploy to austere environments as part of a public health strike team.
  • Act as a liaison with healthcare agencies and public health entities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Public/Community Health, Health Administration, or a related field.
  • Three years of professional experience in health program planning, development, or evaluation, or an equivalent seven-year combination of education and experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficiency in data-driven problem solving and collaboration.
  • Experience with health-related data and information systems.
  • Experience using Microsoft Power BI for data analysis and dashboard development.
  • Knowledge of data security and information governance.
  • Experience presenting complex public health analysis to non-technical audiences.
