About the position

Join us at the Juneau Public Health Clinic as a Public Health Nurse (PHN 2). You will have the opportunity to work in diverse settings, including clinics, homes, schools, and community environments. Your role will encompass a wide range of public health nursing services, such as conducting community health assessments and improvement processes, performing health screenings and providing preventative services, engaging in infectious and communicable disease surveillance, treatment, case management, and prevention, and participating in emergency preparedness activities. In this position, you will independently deliver comprehensive services to individuals, families, communities, and systems, making a significant impact on public health outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting community health assessments and improvement processes
  • Performing health screenings and providing preventative services
  • Engaging in infectious and communicable disease surveillance, treatment, case management, and prevention
  • Participating in emergency preparedness activities

Requirements

  • Eligibility for licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Alaska
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited college or university or Direct Entry Master of Science (MSN) in Nursing from an accredited college or university
  • A valid Alaska Registered Nursing License is required
  • A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment
  • CPR Certification will be required while in this position
