The Public Health Nurse at the County of Muskegon is responsible for delivering comprehensive nursing services focused on preventive health, home health, and clinic programs. Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive nursing services in preventive health, home health, and clinic programs.
  • Conduct assessments and diagnoses for clients and residents.
  • Provide teaching and counseling to promote health and wellness.
  • Deliver prevention services to individuals, families, and groups.
  • Exercise independent judgment in the performance of job duties.
  • Refer complex or unusual problems to supervisory personnel for clinical assistance.
  • Report for specialized assigned duties during public health emergencies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university; OR Bachelor's degree in any major with a minimum of one year of work experience in Public or Community Health; OR Associate's degree in Applied Science (AAS) Nursing with a minimum of two years of work experience in Public or Community Health.
  • Possess and maintain a license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan.
  • Valid Michigan driver's license.
