About the position

The Public Health Project Coordinator at the University of Nebraska Medical Center is responsible for coordinating and implementing national initiatives focused on Perinatal HIV transmission. This role involves providing day-to-day accountability for the FIMR HIV Prevention Methodology National Resource Center's online and community-based components. The position is situated within a team-based environment, emphasizing collaboration and effective communication to achieve project goals. The coordinator will engage in various activities, including project management, stakeholder engagement, and the development of educational materials aimed at preventing HIV transmission among perinatal populations. The coordinator will also be tasked with monitoring project progress, ensuring compliance with established guidelines, and reporting on outcomes to relevant stakeholders. This role requires a deep understanding of public health principles, particularly in maternal and child health, HIV/AIDS, and infant mortality. The coordinator will need to stay informed about current trends in public health service delivery and be able to apply this knowledge to enhance program effectiveness. In addition to project coordination, the position may involve national travel and occasionally require working beyond standard hours. Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and implement national work in the area of Perinatal HIV transmission.
  • Provide day-to-day accountability for the FIMR HIV Prevention Methodology National Resource Center's online and community-based components.
  • Engage in project management and stakeholder engagement activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Education, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • 3 years of related experience in project coordination/management.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of public health practice principles, particularly in maternal and child health, HIV/AIDS, and infant mortality.
  • Skills in verbal and written communication, with the ability to communicate effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated cross-cultural skills and experience to ensure cultural competency in services and products.
  • Ability to provide peer leadership and ensure quality completion of organizational products and services.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Public Health, Education, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • Experience in developing, monitoring, and evaluating program goals and objectives.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Suite Premium.
