About the position

The Public Health Regional Emergency Coordinator serves as the primary contact and technical advisor for the Oregon Health Authority's Public Health Division, focusing on emergency preparedness and response. This role involves developing and enhancing systems for state and local public health, coordinating with regional health care coalitions, and overseeing the implementation of emergency plans related to public health and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and support the development of local and statewide emergency plans for hazard mitigation and disaster response.
  • Coordinate the revision and implementation of emergency preparedness plans across designated counties or regions.
  • Function as a resource for operational development and provide technical assistance in an advisory capacity.
  • Participate as a member of state or local incident management teams as needed.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration among hospitals, health systems, local public health agencies, and emergency services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in public health, occupational health, public policy, or public administration, or equivalent experience of seven years in related fields.
  • Four years of professional-level evaluative, analytical, and planning experience related to occupational health and safety.
