About the position

The Public Health Regional Emergency Coordinator serves as the primary contact and technical advisor for the Oregon Health Authority's Public Health Division, focusing on emergency preparedness and response. This role involves developing and enhancing systems for state and local public health, coordinating with regional health care coalitions, and overseeing the implementation of emergency plans related to hazard mitigation and disaster response. The position is full-time, permanent, and requires a blend of analytical, evaluative, and planning skills in public health and emergency management.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and support the development of local and statewide emergency plans.
  • Coordinate the revision and implementation of emergency preparedness and response plans.
  • Function as a resource for operational development and technical assistance.
  • Participate as a member of state or local incident management teams as needed.
  • Develop and deliver training materials on project-related topics.
  • Communicate effectively with federal, regional, local, and state public health personnel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in public health, occupational health, public policy, or public administration, or equivalent experience.
  • Four years of professional-level evaluative, analytical, and planning experience related to occupational health and safety, or a combination of education and experience equivalent to seven years.
