About the position
The Public Health Specialist 2 is a senior role within the Division of Behavioral Health, focusing on substance use disorders (SUD). This position involves overseeing policy and procedure development, ensuring compliance with regulations, conducting program management, and providing clinical and program consultation statewide. The role also includes program planning, assessments, performance monitoring, and evaluation, contributing to the mission of managing a comprehensive behavioral health system.
Responsibilities
- Oversee substance use disorder (SUD) related policy and procedure development.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations by internal and external stakeholders.
- Conduct program management and furnish statewide clinical and program consultation for agencies and providers.
- Assist in program planning and development related to SUD.
- Coordinate SUD-related assessments, performance monitoring, and program evaluation.
Requirements
- Experience in public health, health administration, nursing, epidemiology, health sciences, health education, community health, or a related field.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to present information effectively to various audiences.
- Knowledge of project management principles and methods.
- Understanding of public health concepts and practices.
- Research skills, including study design, data collection, analysis, and reporting.
