About the position

The Public Policy Summer 2025 Internship at Verizon offers students the opportunity to work closely with senior policy executives, gaining hands-on experience in the field of public policy. This 10-week program immerses interns in meaningful projects that have a tangible impact on the business, while also providing exposure to federal and international regulatory affairs, legislative affairs, and strategic public policy messaging. Interns will develop their professional skills, network with industry professionals, and participate in various policy discussions and events.

Responsibilities

  • Work with and learn from senior Verizon policy executives.
  • Analyze the business and policy environment.
  • Develop and execute policy campaigns as part of a professional team.
  • Participate in policy discussions, attend policy forums and hearings, and visit Capitol Hill.
  • Perform research and prepare memoranda regarding issues under review by the Administration, federal agencies, and Congress.
  • Assist in the creation and implementation of communications plans for internal and external audiences.
  • Engage with Verizon's corporate responsibility initiatives.
  • Work on stakeholder engagement activities in the Technology & Policy Center.
  • Utilize policy research tools such as academic studies, legal documents, and political resources.
  • Refine written and oral communication skills and develop a professional network.

Requirements

  • Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree, Master's degree, or JD program in Public Policy, Business, or a related major with an expected completion date between December 2025 and June 2027.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship.
  • Willingness to work in Washington, DC.
