About the position

The Account Director position at Highwire is a leadership role within a modern strategic communications and digital marketing agency. This individual will oversee multiple teams, develop high-level strategies for clients, and ensure successful media strategies. The role involves mentoring team members, managing client relationships, and contributing to new business development. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in public relations, particularly in tech, and a passion for storytelling that drives transformation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead 4 to 5 teams in developing high-level strategies for clients.
  • Oversee media strategies and ensure team success in client engagements.
  • Engage in new business development and operational leadership.
  • Mentor and manage account teams on client management and quality assurance.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients.
  • Create strategic communications plans based on client needs and market trends.
  • Ensure timely and budget-compliant delivery of projects and campaigns.
  • Communicate regularly with clients regarding deliverables and budgets.
  • Manage account financials and ensure accurate billing and expense recoupment.
  • Participate in the execution of PR programs, including writing and media relations.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of PR agency experience.
  • Strong academic background with a degree in English and/or Business.
  • Core consumer brand PR background with knowledge of corporate PR and crisis management.
  • Experience in managing a press office and handling press inquiries.
  • Ability to measure the ROI of communications activities.
  • Experience with social media influencer engagement and media coverage amplification.
  • Excellent publicity skills and understanding of media requirements.
  • Demonstrated creativity and innovative thinking.
  • Wide network of media contacts across various sectors.
  • Proven ability to deliver impactful PR campaigns from inception to delivery.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
