About the position

Reiss Strategies is seeking a creative and experienced Public Relations Account Executive to join their New York City office. This role involves leading communication strategies, managing high-profile accounts, and engaging with clients to deliver exceptional PR results. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in both client management and new business development, contributing to the firm's growth in the real estate PR sector.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the lead point of contact for multiple public relations clients
  • Oversee high-profile public relations accounts, setting account priorities, timelines, and deadlines
  • Manage day-to-day execution of client public relations strategies and programs
  • Develop strategic recommendations addressing challenges and opportunities for clients and prospects
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and complete them on time and on budget
  • Flawless execution of press conferences and PR events
  • Provide media training and develop interview briefings to prep clients for any/all press opportunities
  • Identify, review, and secure competitive speaking engagements for clients
  • Manage social media, content campaigns, and strategies for media coverage amplification
  • Attend client meetings, troubleshoot problems, draft recaps
  • Handle and lead crisis communications and control messaging
  • Maintain industry awards calendars and submission deadlines on behalf of clients
  • Write, edit, and proofread materials ensuring quality and consistency with appropriate writing styles
  • Develop client content, including blog posts, social media calendars, profiles, bios, award submissions, industry reports, op-eds, and ghostwritten articles
  • Manage media and sector influencer relationships
  • Forge new relationships with editorial teams of target Tier 1 and business outlets, as well as trade publications
  • Draft and oversee compelling pitches that win clients earned media
  • Participate in new business meetings, draft proposals, and pitch alongside senior leadership
  • Manage and mentor incoming PR team members
  • Set up alerts to track client media mentions and press hits
  • Pull press clippings for client distribution
  • Develop monthly PR and social media reports for clients

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in PR or a communications role (real estate experience preferred, but not required)
  • Exceptional client management skills and deep personal investment in client success
  • Established relationships with local and national media outlets, specifically in real estate and business
  • Ability to generate a PR plan for a campaign or an entire PR program
  • Proficient in media relations, tracking, reporting, and social media monitoring
  • Excellent writing skills, experience crafting pitches, releases, backgrounders, contributed articles
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, strong organizational and multitasking skills, and exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Solid grasp of all public relations tools and how they affect the client
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Ability to drive and consistently meet deadlines is a must
  • Intellectually curious, BIG thinker who loves the details, passion for your work, desire to work with the best
  • Strong strategic-thinking skills, and the ability to handle and manage stressful situations
