The Social Media Manager at HMSA will be responsible for managing and enhancing the organization's social media presence across various platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), LinkedIn, Yelp, and YouTube. This role involves creating, managing, and growing HMSA's business presence on these channels, ensuring that the content is engaging, relevant, and consistent with the organization's messaging. The Social Media Manager will evaluate new social media channels for their appropriateness and integrate them into HMSA's existing suite of platforms. This includes setting up external-facing social media accounts, interacting with the community, and maintaining daily activity on these platforms. In addition to managing social media profiles, the Social Media Manager will be tasked with creating shareable content and developing posts that educate and engage audiences. Collaboration with other departments and business owners is essential to ensure proper online messaging and consistency across all networks. The role also requires the development and maintenance of posting schedules, as well as the curation and management of all published content, including images, graphics, videos, and written copy. Monitoring online conversations and competitor presences is a critical aspect of this position. The Social Media Manager will report on relevant online data and trends, manage negative discussions, and curate responses to turn negative experiences into positive ones. As an online brand advocate, the manager will expand community and influencer outreach efforts, acting as the frontline brand ambassador by participating in real-time online conversations, answering questions, and mediating discussions. Strategic planning is another key responsibility, where the Social Media Manager will define and execute strategies that support business goals, increase visibility, traffic, and consumer engagement. This includes collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop marketing and communications plans, utilizing best practices for PR and social media strategies, and analyzing key metrics to adjust strategies as needed. The manager will also research and incorporate SEO/SEM strategies into overall communications and marketing efforts, staying updated on emerging trends in social media tools and applications. The role will also involve media relations, serving as a point of contact for news media, developing story ideas that align with HMSA's goals, and assisting with media requests. Training and mentoring communication and management professionals on social media best practices will be part of the responsibilities, along with assisting with special projects as assigned.
