About the position

The Public Relations/Communications Co-Op position at Nexteer Automotive is designed for students seeking real-world work experience in a corporate environment. This role supports various HR, Government, Grants, and Community Programs, providing students with exposure to the company's operations while allowing Nexteer to identify potential future talent. The position involves coordinating events, tracking grants, and interacting with both internal teams and the public.

Responsibilities

  • Support HR, Government, Grants, and Community Programs.
  • Coordinate various internal and external events.
  • Report and track grants, training attendance, training certificates, federal grants, invoices, and remittances.
  • Utilize Excel for reporting purposes.
  • Interact with members of the public and internal team members.
  • Provide additional support and assistance as needed.

Requirements

  • Must be attending a 2-year college or 4-year university local to Saginaw.
  • Pursuing a degree in Business or a related field.
  • Ability to work 20-32 hours during Fall and Winter semesters, and up to 40 hours in the summer.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
  • Must be a full-time student (12 or more credits) during Fall and Winter semesters.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Products (Office 365, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team, with a willingness to support others.
  • Highly motivated and a self-starter.
  • Must have the right to work in the US without requiring current or future sponsorship.
