About the position

At Alexandra Lozano Immigration Law (ALIL), we are dedicated to changing the lives of the Latino immigrant community through zealous advocacy, finding creative solutions, and aggressive legal strategies. As our internal/external Communications Manager, you'll be responsible for defining and executing our internal communications strategy to ensure that our rapidly growing team is engaged, supported, and inspired by their work at Abogada Alexandra Lozano Immigration Law firm and our culture. Working alongside the Chief Marketing Officer, you'll act as a key conduit between leadership and the organization, keeping our team informed of leadership updates and priorities. Your work will directly impact and define what it means for both our current and prospective employees to work at AA and will be pivotal in driving the continued growth and success of AA and our team. This is an onsite position, based in Tukwuila, WA.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement Bilingual internal communications campaigns and engagement strategies that will help further organizational goals.
  • Showcase knowledge of mission and vision through the art of storytelling.
  • Define key performance indicators for each communications channel to monitor success.
  • Consult with executive management to develop effective communication procedures and policies for various situations or crises.
  • Review press releases, business correspondence, and create speeches, as needed.
  • Ensure organizational initiatives and projects are successfully communicated to employees and stakeholders.
  • Oversee the creation of communications collateral to ensure that it is consistent with the organization's brand, including internal newsletters, website copy, presentation materials, and more.
  • Coach and assist team members on improving communication skills.
  • Research and apply for relevant awards that enhance our ability to recruit new talent (e.g., Best Places to Work).
  • Support other departments as needed with communication initiatives.
  • Maintain a communications calendar.
  • Recommend the structure for and build a communications department.

Requirements

  • Bilingual English/Spanish.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or Communications; a Master's degree is desired.
  • 5+ years proven success designing and executing bilingual (Spanish/English) internal communications strategies and campaigns with at least 3 years of experience in a communications leader role.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment; change management experience a plus.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Good data analysis, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Capable of working well as part of a team as well as independently.
  • Great multitasker and capable of simultaneously managing multiple projects with different and sometimes competing deadlines.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Familiarity or experience working with newsletter platforms such as MailChimp.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft and G-suite.
  • Design skills and knowledge of Adobe Suite preferred.
  • Superior written and verbal communications skills.

  • Knowledge of immigration law and issues affecting the Latino community.
