About the position

The Public Relations & Communications Manager at the Omni Mount Washington Hotel is responsible for creating and maintaining a positive image for the hotel through strategic communications efforts. This role involves developing and managing public relations activities, engaging with media, and coordinating promotional campaigns to enhance the hotel's visibility and financial success.

Responsibilities

  • Initiate and maintain positive relationships with local, national, and international media to generate newsworthy publicity.
  • Develop media programs and act as designated company spokesperson with the media.
  • Design PR objectives and strategies to meet hotel's goals, including key messages and promotional campaigns.
  • Develop an annual Public Relations plan with the DM to effectively accomplish stated objectives.
  • Manage all 3rd party agencies to meet marketing objectives and convey accurate messages.
  • Coordinate public relations activities with promotional and sales activities across departments.
  • Plan, write, and manage the development of press materials, newsletters, press releases, and other communication vehicles.
  • Research and write copy for promotional materials and engage with local community contacts.
  • Update and manage content for the resort website and various media outlets.
  • Develop and execute content for all social media channels and create a strategic calendar.
  • Manage guest service recovery responses for public review sites.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in marketing, communications, or journalism.
  • Basic image editing skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools.
  • Minimum 1-3+ years experience in a public relations related role, preferably for a luxury brand.
  • Hospitality industry knowledge is a strong plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience in Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop is a plus.
  • Knowledge of video production and photography preferred.
  • Aptitude for E-Commerce, Mobile, Content Marketing, and Social Media.
  • Ability to multi-task in a demanding environment and adhere to strict deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
