About the position

The Public Relations Manager at Omni Mount Washington Hotel is responsible for creating a positive image for the hotel through strategic communications and public relations efforts. This role involves managing media relations, developing PR strategies, and coordinating promotional activities to enhance the hotel's visibility and financial success. The position requires a proactive approach to building relationships with media and the community, as well as crafting compelling content for various communication channels.

Responsibilities

  • Initiate and maintain positive relationships with local, national, and international media to generate newsworthy publicity.
  • Develop media programs and act as designated company spokesperson with the media.
  • Design PR objectives and strategies to meet hotel's goals including key messages, targeted publics, and promotional campaigns.
  • Develop an annual Public Relations plan with the DM to effectively accomplish stated objectives.
  • Manage all 3rd party agencies in cooperation with hotel efforts to meet marketing objectives and convey accurate messages.
  • Coordinate public relations activities with promotional and sales activities across departments within the hotel.
  • Plan, write, and manage the development of press materials, newsletters, press releases, and other communication vehicles.
  • Research and write copy for promotional materials.
  • Create a strong presence with targeted contacts in the local community by participating in civic and professional organizations.
  • Entertain and inform media outlets of relevant happenings at the hotel by building trusted relationships.
  • Update, write, and manage content for the resort website and other media outlets.
  • Develop and execute content for all social media channels.
  • Create a strategic calendar and engage with customers to enhance the guest experience.
  • Manage guest service recovery responses for public review sites.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in marketing, communications, or journalism.
  • Basic image editing skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools.
  • Minimum 1-3+ years experience in a public relations related role, preferably for a luxury brand.
  • Hospitality industry knowledge is a strong plus.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Office programs - Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Experience in Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop is a plus.
  • Video production and photography knowledge preferred.
  • Aptitude for E-Commerce, Mobile, Content Marketing, and Social Media.
  • Ability to multi-task in a demanding environment and adhere to strict deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
