About the position

The Public Relations Manager for Luxury & Lifestyle at InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) is responsible for developing and executing public relations strategies that enhance the media presence and reputation of IHG's luxury portfolio in the Americas. This role involves creating innovative programming to attract media attention, aligning efforts with brand campaigns, and mentoring junior team members. The position requires a dynamic leader who can manage multiple projects and foster relationships with media and internal stakeholders to support marketing and PR objectives.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement public relations strategies that align with the overall marketing strategy and annual plan.
• Drive awareness and reputation for the IHG Luxury & Lifestyle Americas portfolio.
• Monitor progress and manage earned media strategy against agreed objectives, including financial metrics.
• Develop and maintain relationships with media, focusing on local and regional press and influencers.
• Manage internal relationships with senior property leaders to maximize cross-functional synergies.
• Initiate and manage communications efforts, including press releases and media planning.
• Monitor competitive activity and make recommendations to management.
• Prepare monthly media coverage and analytics reports.
• Research, pitch, and place favorable stories for properties.
• Collaborate with marketing and sales to ensure maximum economic impact.
• Manage and mentor junior team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• 5 years of progressive work experience in public relations, media relations, and internal communications.
• Hospitality experience is required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with knowledge of AP-style writing.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Fluency in social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram.
• Basic understanding of Microsoft Office and Muck Rack.
