About the position

AMD is seeking a Component PR Manager to enhance its North America press engagements across key business sectors. This role is pivotal in collaborating with the Client and Graphics PR leads, as well as various stakeholders within business units, sales, and marketing. The successful candidate will leverage established relationships with tier one press to support product launches, momentum activities, and competitive engagements, ensuring that AMD's messaging is effectively communicated and strengthens the brand's position as a leader in high-performance computing. In this role, you will be responsible for building and expanding press communities in North America, driving proactive press engagements, and crafting compelling technical narratives. Your efforts will not only support AMD's PR activities in North America but will also have a global impact, enhancing AMD's engagement with media worldwide and creating positive experiences that showcase AMD's technology and leadership. The position requires a strategic approach to media engagement, including the development of a comprehensive media strategy and activation plan for proactive storylines. You will establish best practices for press engagement, build relationships with key press and influencers, and ensure cross-functional alignment to deliver cohesive and on-brand narratives. Additionally, you will be tasked with developing an editorial calendar, providing stakeholder reports on press engagement success, and collaborating with PR agencies to maximize strategic activities.

Responsibilities

  • Support media strategy and activation for proactive storylines across North America and other regions.
  • Establish and manage press engagement strategy and best practices.
  • Build relationships with tier one press and influencers to support AMD media strategies.
  • Support cross-functional alignment between internal business units for cohesive narratives.
  • Develop and maintain relationship and reputation management strategies with key press.
  • Drive innovative media programs that enhance brand loyalty through engaging content.
  • Develop an editorial calendar for mainstream news across business and technology focus areas.
  • Provide regular reports analyzing the success of press engagement activities against KPIs and recommend improvements.
  • Engage with PR agencies to maximize strategic, creative, and reactive activities.

Requirements

  • Proven relationships across North American press and influencers.
  • Significant experience in press communication and strategies.
  • Expert knowledge of client and graphics technology and ability to highlight technological innovation.
  • Expertise in orchestrating relationships between owned, earned, and paid media.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to establish trust and credibility and motivate colleagues across the organization.
  • Passion for technology and high-performance computing.
  • Comfortable in a dynamic, fast-paced working environment.
  • Ability to translate complex technical and business issues into simplified messaging for press.
  • Experience working in large teams with multiple stakeholders and managing change effectively.
  • Strong project management and time management skills.
