About The Position

The Public Relations Manager at MediaSource is responsible for overseeing the quality and success of public relations products and services. This role involves managing client relationships, leading a team, and ensuring impactful media coverage for clients. The manager will mentor junior staff and contribute to the strategic direction of the department, while also being the main contact for larger clients and projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in public relations, journalism, or strategic communications preferred.
• Minimum 5-10 years of experience in public relations with a proven track record of earning high impact media relations results.
• Client leadership/account management experience is desired.
• Strong news judgment and creative thinking ability.
• Excellent writing skills for news media.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a newsroom is helpful.
• Proficient in Google office, media databases, and project management programs.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and execute strategic communications plans that align with MediaSource and client priorities.
• Cultivate and manage relationships with members of the press to achieve media results.
• Lead meetings and organize the team to drive the department forward.
• Manage up to three direct reports and collaborate with team members on client coverage.
• Understand budget models and make resource decisions to increase profitability.
• Work with creative and analytics teams to further client goals based on media trends.
