About the position

The Public Relations Manager at Future PLC plays a pivotal role in developing and executing PR strategies that enhance the visibility of Future's diverse portfolio of specialist media brands. This position is integral to the Trade Marketing team, which is dedicated to championing and communicating the brand through innovative storytelling and strategic marketing and PR campaigns. The primary objective of the team is to drive awareness of Future and create commercial opportunities through various channels, including sales collaterals, events, and public relations efforts. In this role, the PR Manager will be responsible for building and nurturing relationships with key consumer media contacts to accelerate Future's brand-building strategy. This includes pitching story ideas and broadcast segment concepts to the media, crafting impactful press releases, and preparing award submissions. The PR Manager will also identify and secure speaking opportunities that promote Future's leading brands in fashion, lifestyle, gaming, and technology. Reporting directly to the PR Director based in New York, the PR Manager will collaborate with a high-performing team of PR and marketing professionals, ensuring effective communication across multiple departments and time zones. The position requires a deep understanding of the U.S. consumer media landscape and the ability to maintain strong relationships within it. The PR Manager will execute day-to-day PR activities, monitor press activity, and report results, all while bringing fresh ideas that enhance brand awareness across various platforms, including web, social media, and events. This role is designed for a collaborative individual who can drive teamwork through excellent interpersonal skills and a generalist mindset, allowing for effective communication and relationship-building across multiple brands.

Responsibilities

  • Develop brand-building PR strategy to support Future's flagship brands
  • Execute day-to-day PR activities
  • Identify and build relationships with important media contacts
  • Create compelling stories for web, social, events, and awards; bring new ideas that deliver outstanding brand awareness
  • Monitor press activity and report results
  • Work across time zones with editorial leaders through strong communication skills; collaborate with multiple departments in a global business
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the U.S. consumer media landscape and strong relationships

Requirements

  • Strong relationships with key media outlets and national broadcast bookers and producers
  • 3+ years of experience delivering impactful PR strategies that drive brand awareness
  • Experience in the media industry or working in-house within an international, multi-brand environment; experience executing PR strategies for a multi-brand or media company
  • Strong knowledge of the media landscape and the latest consumer trends
  • Experienced in writing for multiple channels - website, social, email
  • Excellent working knowledge of press monitoring tools and reporting
  • A generalist mindset and a record of working across multiple brands
  • Ability to cultivate trusting relationships and facilitate efficient communication
  • Collaborative with an ability to drive collaboration through excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
