Under general direction, the Public Relations Manager is responsible for planning and conducting media and community relations programs aimed at creating and maintaining a favorable public image of the City of San Antonio through various communications media. This role involves leading, managing, and coordinating support for the annual communication strategies of the San Antonio Metropolitan Health District, ensuring effective communication to inform and educate the public about health and factors influencing it. The position requires a proactive approach to public relations, including the development of executive summaries, press conferences, and public tours of City facilities. The Public Relations Manager will also prepare literature and brochures, attend public meetings to gather and disseminate information, and promote goodwill through various publicity efforts such as speeches, exhibits, and tours.
