About the position

The Public Relations/Marketing Specialist at Mulzer Crushed Stone, Inc. will play a pivotal role in developing, facilitating, and implementing communication programs that align with the strategic objectives of the Mulzer Family of Companies. This position is essential for designing, developing, and producing communication tools aimed at both internal and external audiences. The specialist will be responsible for driving strategies related to community relations, university relations, customer relations, crisis management, media engagement, and special events. Additionally, the role will support digital marketing initiatives and special projects, including video production for various company activities. In this role, the specialist will support the company with all requested digital and marketing deliverables across various business lines. This includes creating artwork, designing slides, producing banners, infographics, photos, videos, and other visual content. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is crucial, as the specialist will need to conceptualize, write, edit, and produce customized communication plans and marketing materials for identified projects. The position also involves managing community programs and campaigns, handling sponsorship and donation requests, and overseeing external vendors to ensure project completion and program maintenance. The specialist will stay informed about industry trends and make recommendations for adjustments to communication strategies. Writing copy for various internal and external communications is a key responsibility, as is working with business leaders to ensure coverage of company projects. The role also includes planning and executing internal communications related to organizational changes and partnering with HR on promotions, recruiting, and new employee communications content. Compliance with branding and logo applications will be ensured through collaboration with the corporate marketing liaison.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field.
  • Three plus years of relevant experience in public relations or marketing.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Successful project management and decision-making skills.
  • Outstanding organizational and planning abilities.
  • Strong action orientation and drive for results.
