About the position

The Public Relations Specialist at Tempus Unlimited, Inc. is responsible for creating and maintaining a positive public identity for the organization. This role involves writing press releases, responding to media inquiries, and monitoring public opinion through various channels. The specialist will contribute to existing PR efforts and develop new initiatives that align with the organization's objectives, while also building relationships with government officials and the community.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with consumers, community members, employees, local and state legislators, and public interest groups.
• Write press releases and prepare information for the media to promote Tempus Unlimited.
• Plan or direct the development of programs to maintain favorable public and stakeholder views of the organization's agenda and accomplishments.
• Analyze the organization's objectives and promotional policies to build public relations strategies that influence public opinion and promote services.
• Maintain the organization's image and identity through various communications.
• Draft speeches and schedule interviews for organizational representatives.
• Prepare and edit organizational materials, including employee newsletters and other publications for internal and external audiences.
• Update and maintain the organization's digital content.
• Collaborate with managers to identify trends and evaluate advertising to ensure alignment with public relations efforts.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in the public relations field, preferably in the non-profit human services sector.
• Bachelor's degree in public relations, journalism, communications, marketing, or a related field.
• Superior written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with the latest PR trends and best practices.
• Knowledge of consumer marketing.
• Creative thinking and inquisitive nature.
• Strong reporting skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure.
