About the position

The Public Relations Program Manager at Nemours Children's Health is responsible for leading strategic communications efforts to enhance the organization's reputation across various audiences, including media, patients, policymakers, and the general public. This role focuses on storytelling that highlights Nemours' leadership in pediatric healthcare, driving thought leadership, and managing media relations. The position requires collaboration with multiple teams within the Marketing and Communications Department and involves both on-site and remote work, with a strong emphasis on media engagement and event management.

Responsibilities

• Employ a keen sense of what ‘makes' a great story that can influence and educate key audiences.
• Promote healthcare innovation and cultivate relationships with researchers and clinicians to secure national media coverage.
• Strengthen and cultivate relationships with patient and community organizations to grow visibility.
• Place relevant experts at conferences and speaking opportunities.
• Manage events in-person and virtually across their life cycle.
• Drive philanthropic and legislative advocacy initiatives through public relations strategy.
• Identify issues impacting the organization's reputation and develop communications plans to mitigate them.
• Create digital communications products in collaboration with multimedia and social media teams.
• Write various communications materials including press releases, blog posts, and award nominations.
• Utilize media and social media tools for public relations efforts.
• Willingness to travel locally and to Nemours sites in Florida, and work non-traditional hours.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism or related field; Master's degree is a plus.
• 8 to 10 years of experience in public relations or related field.
