About the position

The Project Manager, Firm Recognition/Surveys at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP is responsible for leading the firm's participation in directories, awards, and surveys submissions across its transactional practices. This role involves strategizing with firm management, collaborating with practice leaders, and coordinating with marketing colleagues globally to enhance the firm's recognition. The position is based in New York and offers a hybrid working schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Work with firm management to strategize and prioritize firm participation in awards and directories.
  • Interact with office and practice leaders to identify strategic goals for recognition.
  • Coordinate with marketing colleagues in various regions on recognition projects.
  • Write and edit award nominations and directory submissions in collaboration with partners.
  • Develop firm recognition materials for marketing and business pitches.
  • Interface with publication editors and researchers regarding awards and surveys.
  • Gather information needed for firm and practice surveys from various departments.
  • Research new opportunities and analyze peer firms' participation in awards and directories.
  • Compile peer analysis and historical recognition lists as needed.
  • Ensure best practices and feedback are documented for future use.
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills to facilitate work relationships.
  • Manage firm resources responsibly and comply with firm policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of seven years' relevant prior law firm experience
  • At least four years managing directory, award, and survey submissions
  • Excellent writing and editorial skills
  • Strong critical thinking, judgment, and decision-making ability
  • Collaborative and project management skills
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines under pressure
  • Knowledge of relevant firm computer software programs (e.g., Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Close attention to detail
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and planning skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality
  • Flexibility to travel and adjust hours as necessary.
