About the position

The Senior Vice President (SVP) at Highwire is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing significant account revenue and providing high-level counsel to clients, primarily in the technology sector. The SVP will develop and implement coherent strategies for clients, manage integrated teams, and drive business growth through innovative marketing and communications solutions. This position emphasizes mentorship, performance management, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the agency.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee $1.5 - 2M in account revenue as the most senior strategic client counsel.
  • Produce coherent strategies for clients and projects consistently.
  • Work with top executives at leading technology companies as a trusted counselor and advisor.
  • Drive key agency initiatives including excellent careers, superb client service, strong financials, and improved operations.
  • Generate business revenue within existing clients by offering strategic recommendations to expand the scope of work.
  • Identify and lead pitches to bring in new clients with growth goals tied to salary.
  • Provide clients with seamless multi-channel solutions utilizing traditional PR, digital, and social media platforms.
  • Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and quality.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop staff using a supportive and collaborative approach.
  • Monitor staff performance and development goals, assign accountabilities, and conduct annual performance reviews.
  • Represent Highwire and key clients at high-level industry events, seminars, and conferences.
  • Service clients profitably while monitoring staff billability and client needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or a related field.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in communications, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership capacity.
  • Demonstrated skill in building relationships with top-tier reporters and editors.
  • Extensive writing and editing experience with various print and online media.
  • Experience with social media influencer engagement and content campaigns.
  • Leadership experience in managing strategic communications and media relations programs.
  • Innovative thinker with a track record of translating strategic thinking into action plans.
  • Experience in building, managing, mentoring, and coaching a team of communications specialists.
  • Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to make decisions in a changing environment and anticipate future needs.
  • Experience in setting up measurement programs and measuring ROI of communications activities.

Nice-to-haves
