The Public Relations & Social Media Specialist at Canopy Credit Union plays a crucial role in coordinating marketing, advertising, and public relations initiatives. This position is responsible for managing campaigns, fostering relationships with media contacts, and promoting the organization through various channels. The Specialist will also develop and implement marketing strategies to enhance brand awareness and drive engagement within the community.

Responsibilities

• Assists in public relations promotions, branch openings, event sponsorships, and community involvement.
• Ensures timely and effective communication and management of inbound and outbound correspondence.
• Creates and delivers integrated marketing programs to increase usage of electronic products and services.
• Implements an annual Marketing Plan and oversees communication and implementation.
• Analyzes results and recommends refinements for future eCommerce promotions.
• Creates and distributes educational and promotional publications, including print ads and newsletters.
• Projects a positive and consistent image of the company in all materials.
• Cultivates relationships with Local Business Partners and press publications.
• Functions as Administrator for the company's social media portals.
• Assists with search engine optimization initiatives and writes content for member communications.
• Administers email marketing program and posts online ads.
• Writes press releases, media announcements, and other PR copy.
• Develops and updates content for the company's external website.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Business, Journalism, or a related field.
• 6 months to 2 years of similar or related experience.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a significant level of trust and credibility.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with social media management tools.
• Knowledge of search engine optimization (SEO) best practices.
• Familiarity with graphic design software.
