The Public Relations Specialist I position at the University of Georgia is a vital role within the Planning and Engagement Team of Enterprise Information Technology Services (EITS). This position is responsible for producing a diverse range of content tailored for various audiences, including students, faculty, staff, campus IT partners, system functional owners, and EITS employees. The content produced will encompass marketing materials, student and faculty guides, newsletters, press releases, website stories, and instructional technical guides. The specialist will play a key role in the planning, implementation, and communication of EITS events, such as orientation sessions, the Computer Health and Security Fair, and the State of IT presentations. In this role, the specialist will facilitate the planning and execution of EITS events, ensuring that all materials adhere to consistent branding standards. They will provide oversight and input for outreach efforts across various EITS departments, ensuring that common branding and marketing materials are utilized effectively. The specialist will also be responsible for reviewing documentation and information to ensure a standard look and feel across all communications. Additionally, the specialist will contribute to the communications efforts for IT projects by assisting with communication plans. This includes drafting web and print materials, such as press releases and stories for the EITS website, participating in collaboration meetings with partners and affected users, and drafting presentations and other communication materials targeted at specific audiences. The scope of work will also involve marketing and branding new and existing services to the target audiences. The position will also support updates to the EITS website, ensuring that the information presented is current and accurate. The specialist will co-manage the social media channels, scheduling and posting content as defined by the EITS social media plan. Overall, this role requires excellent writing and organizational skills, the ability to work independently, and a collaborative spirit to engage with team members across various functions.
