About the position

The Public Relations Specialist II at AdventHealth TransLife plays a crucial role in enhancing public awareness and education regarding organ and tissue donation. This position involves collaboration with community partners, volunteers, and various organizations to maximize educational outreach and actionable donor designations. The specialist will implement and evaluate public education initiatives tailored to specific audiences, ensuring that the message of organ donation is effectively communicated. Under the supervision of the public relations manager, the specialist will also assist with the TransLife volunteer program, actively participating in customer service excellence and maintaining respectful relationships with all stakeholders. In this role, the Public Relations Specialist will be responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating key educational initiatives such as Save 8: Designate!, Save 8: Educate!, and the GR8TODON8 8k Race for Donation. The specialist will conduct a minimum of 30 in-services for key public audiences within a year and facilitate at least two large-scale college campus events to promote organ and tissue donation. Additionally, the specialist will perform social media content analysis to ensure mission-focused engagement with target audiences, sharing insights and recommendations with the public relations manager on a monthly basis. The position also requires serving as a professional liaison to student volunteers involved in the Save 8 campaigns, guiding them through the planning, implementation, and evaluation stages of peer-to-peer programs. Monthly campaign reports will be provided to the public relations manager, and the specialist will assist in managing and training the TransLife volunteer program, ensuring that all initiatives align with the organization's mission and goals.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in communication or related field (public relations, marketing, public health, journalism).
  • Two years of public relations experience.
