About the position

The Public Relations Specialist will support the Community Relations Office by assisting in the implementation of public relations strategies aimed at enhancing agency awareness and engagement. This role involves working both independently and collaboratively to execute communication efforts, manage social media content, and develop community partnerships over a temporary period of approximately three months.

Responsibilities

• Assist in executing communication, community engagement, and public relations strategies and objectives.
• Conduct surveys to gather marketing information about the agency's programs and services.
• Implement the agency's crisis communication plan as directed.
• Identify and develop community partnerships to expand public relations efforts.
• Create and develop short and long-term awareness campaigns, identifying potential partnerships to achieve campaign goals.
• Create content and schedule engaging topics for social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Hootsuite, and Instagram.
• Maintain and develop content for the agency's external website to enhance user experience, utilizing WordPress.
• Assist in creating engaging correspondence and informational materials for local media distribution.
• Create, edit, produce, and distribute various internal and external publications, including direct mail, ad campaigns, brochures, and newsletters, while coordinating with vendors for timely production.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Required).
• 2 years of related experience (Preferred).
• Valid Driver's License (Required).
• Working knowledge of WordPress, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Office products, Adobe CS, and Constant Contact.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with social media management tools like Hootsuite.
• Familiarity with community engagement strategies.
