About the position

The Public Relations Specialist at 829 Studios is a mid-level role on our PR Team, ideal for a rising communications expert eager to make an impact. You will take full ownership of creating and executing PR strategies that drive media coverage for our diverse and growing portfolio of clients across industries including AI, beauty, healthcare, consumer products, B2B technology, and more. In this client-facing role, you will collaborate closely with our team while engaging directly with clients. Your responsibilities will include cultivating strong relationships with the media, managing daily media outreach and reporting, and consistently securing press coverage. You will also confidently own presentations and deliverables, playing a key role in shaping and managing successful PR campaigns. Your tasks will involve writing and editing a variety of media and social content, including pitches, press releases, bios, blogs, newsletters, case studies, award submissions, and more, each tailored to capture interest. You will conduct daily media monitoring and report on coverage that impacts both agency and client business. Additionally, you will research, develop, and maintain comprehensive media lists and editorial calendars to keep your finger on the pulse of industry trends. Pitching to top-tier print, online, virtual, and broadcast outlets will be essential, landing national and localized stories that elevate client visibility. You will compile detailed reports, track results, and monitor competitors to ensure continuous improvement. Managing and generating media coverage for client activations, events, and conferences will also be part of your role. You will communicate directly with clients, delivering engaging presentations, providing regular updates, and nurturing strong relationships. Identifying influencer targets and coordinating communications to ensure the successful delivery of content will be crucial. Furthermore, you will develop and manage a calendar of awards and speaking engagements, drafting compelling submissions and tracking deadlines. Keeping up to date on industry and media trends to identify opportunities for clients will be a key aspect of your responsibilities.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of PR experience, ideally within an agency setting.
  • 1-3 years of proven success in securing media coverage across diverse outlet types.
  • Understanding of product launches, brand storytelling, and strategic media and influencer relations.
  • Exceptional writing and editorial skills, with an eye for detail.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and projects.
  • An understanding of integrated digital marketing and its various components.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in influencer marketing.
  • A background in both B2C and B2B marketing.
  • Demonstrated success in crafting award/speaking submissions.
  • A degree in Communication, Marketing, Journalism, Advertising, or Business (not required, but preferred).
