About the position

Gensler is seeking a Public Relations Specialist to join their San Antonio office. This role focuses on enhancing Gensler's brand and reputation through effective media relations, thought leadership, and social media management. The ideal candidate will collaborate with the Regional PR Director and the broader team to execute PR strategies that reflect Gensler's commitment to design and community engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Draft communication materials including press releases, project fact sheets, key messages, blogs, and website content.
  • Field and manage media requests, prepare reporter briefing sheets, and staff media interviews.
  • Maintain media lists and research new reporter contacts as needed.
  • Track media placements and speaking engagements.
  • Research and compile business, industry, and community events for speaking opportunities.
  • Develop messaging or presentations for Gensler experts as needed.
  • Staff speaking events to capture photos for social media and manage onsite interviews with reporters.
  • Work with architects and designers to source ideas for articles and assist with writing and editing.
  • Maintain the San Antonio Instagram account and develop market-specific content.
  • Track views, engagement, and performance of social media content and create reports to demonstrate brand influence.
  • Manage submission content development for awards and assist in writing content as needed.
  • Provide administrative support for project teams during photoshoots and attend events to capture content.
  • Compile weekly media placements, speaking opportunities, events, and award wins for internal reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, PR, or Journalism (or similar degrees depending on relevancy).
  • 5+ years of experience in public relations, media, or communications roles, preferably in a B2B context.
  • Strong writing, editing, grammar, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to craft and execute writing assignments under deadlines.
  • Experience with video editing and familiarity with Adobe Premiere is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, InDesign or Canva, Cision, and Sprout Social.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in business-to-business public relations is preferred over business-to-consumer.
  • Familiarity with social media tracking platforms.
