About the position

The Public Relations Specialist at Erlanger Health System is responsible for promoting the organization's programs, image, and services through various communication channels. This role involves crafting effective messages for diverse audiences, including the general public and healthcare professionals, and requires a strong background in public relations and marketing, particularly within the healthcare sector.

Responsibilities

• Write press releases, public service announcements, and advertising copy.
• Create print materials such as brochures and flyers, and manage content for the Erlanger website.
• Collaborate with graphic designers, printers, photographers, and ad agencies to produce promotional materials.
• Build and maintain media relationships to pitch story ideas and coordinate press coverage.
• Communicate effectively with hospital departments and physicians to identify publicity opportunities.
• Stay updated on healthcare trends and share insights with team members and leadership.
• Plan and support community events, including health fairs.
• Assist the Senior Public Relations Manager with campaigns, media requests, and events.
• Develop digital content for social media and blogs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Media Relations, Public Relations, or a closely related field.
• Five to ten years of experience in public relations, marketing, or a similar role, preferably in healthcare.
