About the position

The Communications Specialist at Cable One is a key member of the Corporate Communications team within the Marketing department. This role focuses on crafting and delivering clear, compelling messages across various platforms, including press releases, newsletters, social media, and internal communications. The specialist will also assist in managing media relations and ensuring consistent brand messaging. The ideal candidate will excel in storytelling, possess strong communication skills, and be adept at handling crises while building relationships with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Create compelling and impactful messaging to effectively engage a diverse range of audiences
  • Develop, write, edit and approve relevant content for all traditional and digital outlets, including news releases, blog posts, customer communications, FAQs, fact sheets and talking points
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather accurate and relevant content for presentations and publications
  • Optimize content for use across multiple communication channels
  • Serve as editor for materials produced within Corporate Communications and other business units
  • Regularly identify new media contacts and maintain an up-to-date department media list
  • Monitor and compile monthly report of print, video, broadcast and social media coverage
  • Measure the effectiveness of communications efforts and recommend improvements based on data insights
  • Adhere to Associated Press (AP) style and organizational guidelines in all written communications
  • Ensure the timely and accurate delivery of all communication materials

Requirements

  • 3+ years' experience in communications or related field
  • BA Degree
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
