About the position

The Public Safety Investigator is responsible for monitoring and observing activities throughout the resort to detect and prevent unlawful acts, ensuring the safety of guests and team members, and protecting company assets. This role involves conducting investigations, reporting suspicious activities, and collaborating with various teams to maintain a secure environment.

Responsibilities

  • Detects and investigates any unlawful conduct, gaming or policy violations by guests and Team Members.
  • Preserves peace and ensures safety of all guests and Team Members, complying with resort rules and regulations.
  • Responds to calls from Resort Team Members and guests requiring back-up and assistance.
  • Collaborates with Public Safety, Surveillance, and Resort Team Members for complex investigations.
  • Communicates effectively with all parties involved in public safety and investigation activities.
  • Summons appropriate law enforcement agencies when necessary.
  • Interviews guests and Team Members; detains suspects for transition to local law enforcement.
  • Completes reports on incidents, investigations, and actions taken.
  • Records occurrences within the gaming facility that deviate from normal operating policies.
  • Adheres to the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Program and its regulations.
  • Assists uniformed guards and provides expertise to Public Safety Team Members as directed.
  • Promotes teamwork, recognition, mutual respect, and collaboration within the work environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED Certificate.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Security, Business, or related field preferred; or equivalent work experience.
  • Five years of prior experience as an armed peace officer, dealing directly with the public.
  • Possess minimum California Peace Officer Standards and Training Basic certificate or equivalent.
  • Basic computer proficiency utilizing Microsoft applications, e-mail, and internet.
  • Must have a valid retired peace officer ID with concealed carry authorization.
  • Must apply for, receive, and maintain a Gaming License from the Tribal Gaming Agency.
