About the position

The armed security officer at Dayton Children's Main Campus is responsible for providing maximum security for the hospital during normal operations and emergency situations. This role involves enforcing the hospital's security rules and regulations uniformly among patients, visitors, and hospital employees in a professional manner that aligns with the hospital's mission of providing healthcare to the community's children. The officer will also comply with a hospital-wide program for surveillance, prevention, and control of infection, as well as a safety management program aimed at creating a hazard-free physical environment and reducing the risk of human injury. Collaboration with all divisions of the hospital is essential, and the officer will also be responsible for patient transport. A valid driver's license is required, and the officer must be able to lift up to 70 lbs. Additionally, the officer must achieve OPOTA certification within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • GED or High School diploma required.
  • Must maintain a valid driver's license and be insurable by the hospital's insurance carrier.
  • Ability to lift 70 lbs.

Nice-to-haves

  • OPOTA Certification or similar certification/licensure from the Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy.
