About the position

The Public Safety Tech Programmer at Hartford Hospital plays a crucial role in the design, development, and ongoing support of the department's information systems. This position is essential for providing business solutions that enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of service delivery within the hospital's comprehensive healthcare network. The role involves troubleshooting, maintaining systems, and collaborating with the Information Services team to ensure compatibility with hospital standards.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in the design, development, and ongoing production support of department information systems.
  • Services and maintains department systems by investigating, implementing, and testing equipment to ensure operability and compliance with regulatory specifications.
  • Troubleshoots and problem solves systems, providing 24-hour accountability to meet user business needs.
  • Advises and consults with internal and external end-users to achieve their business needs, making cost-effective recommendations.
  • Provides systems support to staff by maintaining hardware/software availability and training staff in system applications.
  • Collaborates with the Information Services team to ensure developed systems are compatible with hospital requirements.
  • Applies system and technical knowledge to solve customer production problems in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Associate degree in Computer Science or Technical School diploma preferred.
  • Five (5) years' field service experience managing and maintaining hardware/software specific to security protection and access control systems required.
  • Data entry and report formulation experience required.
  • Low Voltage experience required.
  • Skilled Trade Certification/Licensure in High and/or Low voltage.

Nice-to-haves

  • Preferred experience in a healthcare delivery system.
  • Five to seven (5-7) years' field service experience managing and maintaining hardware/software specific to security protection and access control systems.
  • High Voltage experience preferred.
  • Lenel Core and Video Certifications, Evolve Express WDS certifications preferred.
