About the position

As a Public Infrastructure Engineer - Project Manager for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), you will be part of a dynamic and growing team responsible for managing the design of water and wastewater collection, pumping, and treatment facilities, as well as transportation-related projects. This role offers the opportunity to lead projects in the Oklahoma City area while collaborating with colleagues across multiple office locations to deliver project services to clients in various sectors, including public sector, manufacturing, solid waste, and mining markets. Your responsibilities will encompass managing the design process, ensuring quality control, providing exceptional client service, overseeing budgeting, and mentoring a team of designers, engineers, and scientists. In this position, you will interact with clients, contractors, and local government officials, playing a crucial role throughout the entire project lifecycle. This includes the conceptual and planning phases, design, regulatory review process, bidding, construction, and ultimately, the completion and delivery of a fully operational project. Your expertise will significantly impact the success of these projects, making your role vital to the organization and the communities we serve.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the design of water and wastewater collection, pumping, and treatment facilities.
  • Lead transportation-related projects in the Oklahoma City area.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across multiple office locations to provide project services.
  • Ensure quality control and client service throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Oversee budgeting and financial management of projects.
  • Mentor and develop a team of designers, engineers, and scientists.
  • Interact with clients, contractors, and local government officials.
  • Participate in the conceptual planning and design phases of projects.
  • Navigate the regulatory review process and manage bidding and construction phases.
  • Deliver completed projects that meet operational requirements.

Requirements

  • 6 to 10+ years of experience in civil engineering or related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, with emphasis on water and wastewater treatment design, distribution, or transportation design.
  • Professional Engineering License (P.E.) is required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to develop and mentor staff effectively.
  • Experience in providing technical reviews of deliverables.
  • Proficiency in preparing proposals and managing project execution.
  • Ability to interface with clients and develop business relationships.

  • Experience in managing large-scale public infrastructure projects.
