About the position

The Public Staff Tax Accountant position at Robert Half is a contract to permanent employment opportunity focused on tax and bookkeeping, particularly in real estate financials. The role involves serving clients from Tennessee and Georgia, ensuring compliance with regional tax laws and regulations while providing high-quality service and support.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of individual, business, corporate, and S Corp tax returns
• Utilize Drake Tax Software for tax preparation and solutions
• Maintain and update financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance
• Audit financial documents and procedures for discrepancies
• Handle a wide range of bookkeeping duties
• Manage financials related to real estate activities
• Serve clients from both Tennessee and Georgia, understanding and respecting regional tax laws and regulations
• Assist customers with their inquiries, providing clear and concise responses
• Monitor customer accounts and take necessary actions as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in public accounting or a related field
• Proficiency in Drake Tax Software and Drake Software - Tax Solution
• Extensive experience in tax preparation
• Familiarity with preparing individual and corporate tax returns
• Understanding of C Corp tax obligations and regulations
• Previous experience with audit procedures and protocols
• Ability to interpret and apply current tax legislation
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
• Strong ethics and reliability
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is a plus.
