About the position

The Public Tax Accountant will be responsible for various accounting functions, including accrual accounting and balance sheet account management, while ensuring compliance with standard accounting practices. This role requires proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites for record-keeping and report generation, and collaboration with other accounting staff to meet departmental goals.

Responsibilities

• Handle various accounting functions to ensure accurate financial records
• Employ accrual accounting methods for managing and recording financial transactions
• Maintain, analyze, and reconcile balance sheet accounts regularly
• Use Microsoft Office Suites for generating reports, presenting data, and record-keeping
• Collaborate with other accounting staff to achieve overall department goals
• Ensure compliance with standard accounting practices and company policies
• Provide support during internal and external audits
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports
• Identify and rectify any accounting discrepancies
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance accounting processes and procedures.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Accounting Functions including but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll
• Knowledge of Accrual Accounting
• Experience in managing Balance Sheet Account
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suites, particularly Excel for financial analysis and reporting
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
• Attention to detail and accuracy in all work
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Ability to meet strict deadlines and work under pressure
• Willingness to continually update skills and knowledge in the field of accounting.
