About the position

The Director of Strategy at CoLab is responsible for leading strategic initiatives that drive brand development and marketing approaches for clients. This role requires a deep understanding of consumer behavior and digital interactions, enabling the creation of actionable insights and recommendations. The Director will oversee all strategic work streams, ensuring high-quality analysis and effective communication with clients and internal teams.

Responsibilities

  • Develop strong client relationships as a key strategic and business partner.
  • Guide the strategic direction with internal and external teams regarding clients' brand development and marketing approach.
  • Gain a deep understanding of clients' business objectives, challenges, threats, and opportunities.
  • Develop a nuanced understanding of clients' customers' wants, needs, and behaviors across the full customer journey.
  • Formulate strategic recommendations for brand positioning, marketing strategy, and digital engagement strategy.
  • Develop points of view on business-critical issues and trends for colleagues and clients.
  • Create inspiring creative and execution briefs.
  • Facilitate internal brainstorms and client workshops.
  • Identify and pursue organic growth opportunities within existing clients.
  • Partner with clients on market research activities.
  • Oversee the development of measurement plans and derive meaningful insights from qualitative and quantitative analysis.
  • Contribute to the development of junior team members.
  • Manage complex projects independently and successfully.
  • Collaborate with other departments to identify efficiencies in working relationships and processes.

Requirements

  • 7-10 years of relevant experience in a similar agency environment.
  • Experience in healthcare marketing, including both HCP and consumer.
  • Superb written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and logical thinking abilities.
  • Ability to simplify and clarify complex concepts.
  • Structured problem-solving approach to address complex strategic issues.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Deep immersion in clients' business on both commercial and clinical/scientific levels.
  • Ability to develop strong client relationships based on deep business understanding.
  • Familiarity with relevant digital channels (e.g., web, mobile, CRM, social media, search).
