About the position

Hachette Nashville is seeking a motivated and creative Publicist to develop and implement publicity campaigns for various titles across its imprints, including FaithWords, Worthy Books, and Worthy Kids. The role involves managing book launches for faith-based adult non-fiction and children's titles, collaborating with authors, and working closely with internal teams to ensure successful publicity efforts. The position offers flexibility in location, with a hybrid work model in place.

Responsibilities

• Publicizing a variety of titles on the FaithWords, Worthy Books, and WorthyKids lists.
• Executing all aspects of a publicity campaign, including booking national and local media, managing author tours, and producing events.
• Developing and maintaining close working relationships with members of the press across various media outlets.
• Collaborating with authors on publicity efforts, including briefing for interviews and accompanying them to engagements.
• Strategizing media lists and creating press materials such as press releases and pitch letters.
• Collaborating with editorial and marketing teams on book launches.
• Planning and executing author appearances and details for pre-sell events and tours.

Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of publicity experience in professional public relations or book publishing.
• Strong knowledge of national and regional media.
• Interest in and passion for practical non-fiction and children's publishing.
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.
• Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
• Knowledge of the media, marketplace, and competition.
• Ability to escort authors and travel domestically as needed.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, etc.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with Net Galley, Muck Rack, Podchaser, Cision, and Edelweiss.
