About the position

The position involves providing education and rehabilitation services to patients and their families in a cardiopulmonary rehabilitation setting, primarily focusing on patients with pulmonary disease. The role emphasizes patient education and aims to enhance the quality of life for individuals with respiratory conditions.

Responsibilities

• Provide education and rehabilitation services to patients and their families in the cardiopulmonary rehabilitation setting.
• Focus on patients with pulmonary disease and their specific needs.
• Conduct patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
• Implement exercise prescriptions and monitor patient progress.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Requirements

• Associates degree from a respiratory care program.
• At least three years' experience in a pulmonary-related field with a strong emphasis on patient education.
• Current licensure as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in the State of Illinois.
• Basic Life Support certification required.
• Successful completion of annual clinical, age, and job-specific competencies and skill verification tools.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in exercise prescription is helpful.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to deal with all levels within the organization and community under varied conditions.
• Excellent verbal, written, organizational, and critical decision-making skills.
