About the position
The Department of Pulmonology at Jefferson Einstein Philadelphia Hospital is seeking a full-time Pulmonologist to join a high-volume practice. The role involves providing comprehensive care for patients with respiratory conditions, supported by a team of experienced pulmonologists and Nurse Practitioners. The incoming physician will work across two office locations and will be responsible for managing chronic respiratory diseases, conducting various medical procedures, and participating in the education of medical students and residents.
Responsibilities
- Managing the care of chronic respiratory diseases, such as asthma, emphysema, tuberculosis, and lung cancers.
- Coaching patients on management of their illness through lifestyle changes.
- Performing bronchoscopy and chronic lung disease treatment (COPD, asthma).
- Administering narcolepsy treatment and pneumonia vaccines.
- Conducting pulmonary function tests and evaluating sleep apnea.
- Performing thoracentesis and ventilator management.
- Participating in medical student, resident, and fellow education if interested.
Requirements
- MD or DO from an accredited program.
- Completion of Internal Medicine residency.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pulmonology.
- Completion of a Pulmonology/CC fellowship.
- Ability to obtain and maintain all required licensure and certifications.
