About the position
The Pump Mechanic position at Aerotek involves repairing and maintaining various types of pumps and rotating equipment, with a focus on progressive cavity and centrifugal pumps. The role requires hands-on skills in assembling, disassembling, and troubleshooting pumps, as well as machining parts necessary for repairs. This position is fully on-site in Houston, Texas, and is structured as a contract-to-hire opportunity.
Responsibilities
- Machine a variety of pump parts (i.e., shafts, sleeves, impellers, etc.)
- Assemble/Disassemble pumps and rotating equipment
- Assemble/build skidded pump packages
- Troubleshoot equipment problems
- Perform simple dimensional analysis (using calipers, etc.)
- Conduct simple quality control of equipment received and shipped
