About the position

The Punchout / Warranty Lead at GreatHouse Remodeling is a key role responsible for overseeing the successful completion of large-scale remodeling projects and managing warranty requests for former clients. This position requires a strong background in carpentry and residential remodeling, along with excellent project management and customer communication skills. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining high standards of quality and client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Perform carpentry and remodeling tasks at a high level, focusing on handyman tasks and trim carpentry.
  • Develop and maintain a punch list in collaboration with the Project Lead and Project Designer.
  • Manage materials, subcontractors, and the GreatHouse team to complete punch lists and wrap up projects efficiently.
  • Coordinate with the Production Manager to schedule subcontractors and team members for punch list and warranty issues.
  • Ensure job site safety and maintenance of company tools, including equipment inspections.
  • Act as a customer liaison, providing solutions and maintaining communication throughout the project.
  • Post daily logs with photos to document job progress and set expectations for the following day's work.
  • Supervise laborers, carpenters, and subcontractors, ensuring quality work on punchout, warranty, and handyman projects.
  • Train and develop carpenters and laborers, contributing to annual performance reviews.

Requirements

  • Minimum seven years of experience in residential construction, including extensive rough and finish carpentry skills.
  • Minimum two years of experience as a Lead Carpenter, Project Manager, or Owner/Operator in residential construction.
  • Ability to manage project schedules and client relationships effectively.
  • Good working knowledge of building trades and ability to inspect related work.
  • Strong communication, job coordination, and supervisory skills.
  • Familiarity with project management software (e.g., BuilderTrend, ProCore) or ability to learn new software quickly.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work consistently.
  • Reliable work vehicle and a valid Georgia driver's license.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with circular saws, sanders, and other advanced carpentry tools.
  • Knowledge of additional tools such as compressors, miter saws, and nail guns.
