About the position

The Punjabi (Panjabi) Interpreter position involves providing on-site and remote interpretation services throughout the five boroughs of New York City. The role is part-time and requires flexibility in scheduling, as well as the ability to travel to various client locations. The interpreter will collaborate with service providers to facilitate communication and support the NYC Department of Education with language services.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site and remote consecutive and simultaneous interpretation services.
• Manage a flexible schedule to accommodate client needs.
• Travel to clients within the five boroughs of NYC.
• Establish dependable communication with service providers and clients.

Requirements

• Fluent in English and Punjabi (Panjabi).
• Must be 18 years of age or older and have U.S work authorization.
• Provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination.
• Willingness to travel to all 5 boroughs of New York City.
• Access to the Internet, quiet workspace, and computer/phone for remote work.
• Ability to pass a background check.
